Colton is the winner, he is my nephew, he is a teenager and I have no clue why, but he wanted this art. Maybe he is going to start decorating a baby's room.....Ummm Corey, maybe he needs to tell you something........mmmmkay, well, Congratulations Colton!!!

I think I have mentioned a time or two about how Libby gets heart broke and butt hurt if anyone laughs at her, even if it just because she has said something funny. But I really need to share this. She has allergies and this time of year she sneezes constantly. Everyone around here always says "Bless you" when she does. Well almost always. The other day she sneezed while we were talking and nobody said anything to her. She got all teary eyed and looked like she was going to cry so I asked her what was wrong. Her voice got all wobbly and the tears started coming when she said, "I bless you'd and nobody said it." It took me a minute, but I realized that she thought sneezes were called "Bless you's" and it was bad if nobody noticed when you did it. Maybe you had to be here, but it was really funny to us.

~~Kindergarten Graduation~~

My daughter Amber and grandson Xadrian graduated from Kindergarten last week. I don't really remember Kindergarten ending for me, but I know that when my older kids "graduated" from Kindergarten they just had the last day of school and then went to first grade. No big deal. Not anymore!! Of course we had to buy roses, everyone else did and I didn't want them to feel left out or anything. And then we had to go to lunch afterwards because "everyone else was" and I couldn't embarrass them by not showing up. But let me tell you about the graduation itself.

First they hired a choreographer to help them with a dance program. I am not saying it wasn't nice- in fact it was damn good and I was very impressed at how good they did, but these are 5 and 6 year olds. Do they really need a professional dance coach to teach them all these dances?
They had speeches and recognition gifts for the teachers aids.

Then they did the whole walk across the stage and accept the diploma thing, shaking hands with the teacher and the principal.

Then they sold DVD's of the dance program, which of course I HAD to buy! They also sold yearbooks. For Kindergarten......please.

I guess it was cool, but I feel kind of sad. Why? Because my high school graduation wasn't that big. All we did was walk and get the diploma. I think I was gypped in the woot woot department. Maybe I should go back to school???

5/30 Small Talk Six

The ladies of Momdot are at it again with a new weekly meme called Small Talk Six. Every Saturday a new topic is announced and you respond to each topic with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 photos, or 6 paragraphs, whatever your heart desires. You can check out the Small Talk Six announcement to see all of the pre-scheduled topics for 2009. Don’t forget to stop by and see this weeks responses at MomDot and link up your own.

6 things that make you sick, but you eat them anyways

1. Hot Dogs!! I have no clue why because I love them, but they always give me an upset stomach

2. Carnival food. Any kind, any carnival, makes no difference, maybe it is the grease that never gets changed?!?!?

3. Chili. While the rest of my family is playing the butt flute, I am praying to the porceline Gods all night.

4. Those stupid orange circus peanuts. They taste like styrofoam anyway, but I eat them and spend the rest of the day begging to feel better so I can die.

5. Greasy Stan's fries. We have a little tiny privately owned fast food place that has the greasiest food on the planet, but Oh Lordy does it tastes sooooooo good!! Sometimes I just gotta have me some Stan's fries.

6. Last, but certainly not least is popcorn. I love it smothered in butter and salt and I can't stop once I start. I end up with stomach cramps like no tomorrow, but next time I have the opportunity I go for it again!!!

~~Make A Wish & Pediped Footwear~~

Pediped™ to host special shoe promotion to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation!!!
Please everyone read this and help out if you can. You will be getting one heck of a deal and helping make a wish of a child come true!!! Please do whatever you can, it really does make a difference. Having lost my granddaughter to cancer and having many friends with gravely ill or handicapped children I can tell you first hand how WONDERFUL Make A Wish is!!! Please, please, please go on over and take a look. The shoes are wonderful, in fact I am going to be posting a review on a super cute pair later this week. I am going out on a limb here and if I can get 10 of my readers to buy a pair of shoes during this fund raiser I will personally do a drawing for a $100 prepaid Visa card. This means that much to me! And if you don't have kids to buy for you can always use mine ;-)

HENDERSON, Nev. (May 2009) — Beginning May 27 and running through June 10, pediped™ Footwear will host a Purchases with Purpose fundraiser to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. During this period, select styles of both Originals and Flex shoes will be marked down. Fifty percent of sales from this fundraiser will be donated to the charity to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

pediped™ very rarely marks down the price of their shoes. In fact, this will mark the third time in the company’s five-year history that such an event will occur. The first two events also benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“In these times, it's more important than ever to give back to the community and bring joy to children who need it. We hope people will go online to shop, and together we can all make a difference!” said pediped™ President Angela Edgeworth.

pediped™ will host several different fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In 2008, the company raised more than $111,000 to help grant 15 wishes and has aspirations of surpassing that figure in 2009. Information on current and upcoming fundraisers can be found on pediped.com. Lets help make this year even better!!

~~My Beautiful Scribble It Wall~~

I can't believe it was so easy!!

Scribble It has a very large online store with a lot of nice, sleek and stylish wall art. You will spend a lot of time going back and forth through all their designs to try to find your favorite. They are all beautiful, and affordable. What an easy and cheap way to make a room go from blah to fab! You can also get customized items made especially for you and your family. These are so cool and when you get them up on the wall, it looks like you have had a professional designer in your home.

First we washed the wall really good. We had a little trouble getting the backing off of the vinyl, but found that if we pulled the backing off in a kind of back and forth rocking motion it came off better. If we got to a place that was a little stubborn, Jeff pressed on it from the front and it came off just fine.

Next he put it up on the wall. The directions say to use a level and masking tape, but my husband thinks he doesn't need those kind of things. He did get it on straight so I guess he doesn't, but don't tell him he was right, I don't want to ruin my record! If it were up to me I would suggest using the tape and a level to make it perfect!

Next he rubbed the whole thing quite firmly with his hand and a credit card, making sure it was attached well to the wall and getting all of the bubbles out.

Then he started slowly peeling the transfer paper off using the same back and forth rocking motion. We figured since it worked well on the other part it would work here and it made it very simple.

After he was done taking the transfer paper off he went over the whole thing again with his palm to make sure that there were no bubbles or places that were lifting.

With all that completed we were left with a beautiful "Family brings you home" wall saying in a wonderful chocolate brown.

If you want to see a demonstration you can go to the Scribble It site and there is a video tutorial that is very informative and easy to follow!!

Is that not awesome looking?? It looks classy and like I hired someone to come in and do it. And trust me, I am not all that talented at any type of crafty stuff, but this was so easy!!!

I would definitely be willing to do my whole house with Scribble It because it’s so easy and it looks incredible like a professional did it. I really can't say enough about how great this looks! I have been wanting to get some of these for a long time, but every time I find someone who does them the price was outrageous.
Not at Scribble It though! Prices I can afford and a product that looks awesome on my walls!
Cammi at Scribble It was super nice and easy to work with and I will be working with her A LOT!!!! She is going to be taking some of the summer off to do stuff with her kidos, but check her site out and get those orders in to her.

PS Hint to my family This is what I want for Christmas & my birthday this year ;-)

~~Between You and Me~~

Have you ever wondered how things were when your grandpa was young? Did he serve in a war? How did he ask your grandma to marry him? Did your grandma finish school? Did her mother make her wedding dress? Knowing things about the people in your family is great and having it in their own words is even better. Having just lost my mom I have found myself asking things about her and her family that nobody seems to know the answer to and now there is no way we will ever know. Like who are these people in these old photographs, that is a big one. These are my great great grandparents and their families and now there is no way to put names to faces. That is why the product from Between You and Me is so perfect!!

Between You & Me- a few things I have been meaning to ask you-- is a collection of journals that you have the important people in your life fill out to keep all the family memories alive.
Give these keepsake journals to the people you care about most. Each hardcover, spiral-bound book measures 6 ½ " x 7 ¼ " and contains 35 - 45 fun-to-ask and fun-to-answer questions. You get them back with handwritten responses you'll cherish forever. Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Brother, Sister, Daughter, Son, Best Friend and Significant other are just some of the choices to buy and give to the special people in your life. There is a reunion one that would be excellent to pass around to all the aunts, uncles, cousins and everyone else to get all the family information!

The great folks at Sanddune Books have graciously offered all of my readers free shipping until May 30th, just use the code word "Perry" at check out. So go on over, look around, and pick out a great Father's Day gift that will be a lot better than another tie!!
